The single was published at the time she turned 19. It received praise from listeners and music critics. It reached number 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the most memorable songs of the year. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track since, in light of her interview with Rap-Up that she did with the listeners could connect to her experiences of discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about emotional health, kindness, and love of self in her music. All of it is a result of her personal journey as she has been battling mental health issues and insomnia. She advises other people, if needed, to seek help. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10 and this ignited her love for music. She began to cover her favorite songs when she was 13 to prove to everyone that she could sing and had the courage necessary to be a singer. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and compose her own music.
